Two words Nacho... "Slow timer".

Nuff said.

Nacho (Rank 4th) says:

ahaha thanks Captain Ged ^^

Nacho (Rank 4th) says:

After playing a while, I can share with you my first tip:

"Never wish the piece you need to appear, because it never will"

:D

Captain Ged (Rank 586th) says:

Yes, or put another way: "Hope for the best, but plan for the worst."

Nacho (Rank 4th) says:

All right! Top 100 :D
Top 50 I´m coming!!!

Nacho (Rank 4th) says:

Finally made it top 50 xD
It was quite a challenge.

Hope to keep playing better.

Hi Nacho, I am the programmer behind Frenzic, so I'll try to answer your question from Ged's card: When you "skip a piece, the next piece coming is the one you would actually get if you succesfully put the one before? Or it changes?"

Short answer: No, not the same.

Though in most cases it would be the same.

The next piece you get is random, but some pieces you will not get. That depends on an optimum game "played in the back" on that you never receive pies that would be unfair. Also in the beginning phase the game it is more forgiving.

So, back to your question: If that setting of your pie is not the optimum set you may end up getting pies you cannot place. If you place it in the optimum way you do not get unsettable pies.

But as the games advances your game and the optimum game will more and more diverge, and this will matter less.

Wow I really played great this time XD
Can't beleive i reached 6000+ :D

Hope to keep going further. Can´t stop playing this thingy...

FrenzicPrincess (Rank 638th) says:

I really can't believe your percentage of single color pies... *blinks disbelievingly* I think it's the most I've seen so far!

I don't have time to be addicted, but practice is defiantly on the agenda : )

Hey, I was just curious... Is it hard to keep your rank? Or is everyone spread so far apart that you really don't have to worry?

FrenzicPrincess

P.S. Added you as a friend :-P

Nacho (Rank 4th) says:

Wow my last game was amazing xD
Got a divine inspiration on that one.

I am really happy to reach top10 :D

Curious if my hint of the slow timer is helping you or not. Given the way you've been improving, I'd love for you to share with us your insights into how you've been climbing the ladder. I'm sure other players would love to hear some strategy if you have some time.

Nacho (Rank 4th) says:

Well, first of all I believe that a lot of practice, helps a lot in frenzic, no doubt.
By playing a lot you start to realize some stuff about the game that help you.
These are some tips I can share with you:

- Use power-ups as soon as you get them. Except for the nuke.
- Importance of the power-ups:
In early instances of the game: double pts, slow timer nuke.
In late instances of the game: slow timer, double pts, nuke.
- Slow timer is totally important for the game. Frenzic speeds up by reaching certain ammount of time during game-play. By getting lots of slow timers you delay this time so the speeding up of the game really doesn`t affect you that much, until you get 7000+ points.
- Double points are as important as the slow timer, or even more for me. This is a fact in the game, especially to get high scores.
- Don`t nuke if you can prevent it. I prefer to lose some lives instead of using the nuke. Especially when you have nearly finished colored pies.

Nacho (Rank 4th) says:

However there are time were you have no choice but to nuke.
- Never attempt to make more than 2 full pies of the same colour in the game. In late instances of the game, never try to make more than 1 full coloured pie of each colour.
- When you have two nearly full pies of the same colour, with the same last piece missing and you keep not getting the piece you need, sacrifice one pie. Is better to get some space than to keep waiting.
- I hear a lot about people putting the same coloured pies on the same place everytime. Green up, orange left, etc. I really don`t share this, I put them anywhere. Of course always trying to make the full pies on the power-up spaces.
- BEST TIP EVER: DON`T MAKE MISTAKES OR FRENZIC MAKES YOU MISERABLE.
Every piece has an "ideal" place to be put. If you put the pieces on the correct places, frenzic helps you out. If you make mistakes, frenzic gives you more trouble.

Nacho (Rank 4th) says:

An example of a mistake is when you have a piece that will finish a full colour pie, but instead of putting it there (where it should be) you put it on another place.
Many of this mistakes will bring you trouble ahead in the game.

Well that's all I can think of. Hope it's helpful for someone.
Took me 3 messages to put everything, it kept cutting my tips :p

Remember: "Practice is everything"

Regards,
Nacho.

hop (Rank 5th) says:

Yeah, what he said! ,-)

Nacho (Rank 4th) says:

I'm glad hop agrees. It means I'm in the correct direction :D

Nacho (Rank 4th) says:

Grrr... 11.000+ Points pissed me off. I had 30 lives, and lost all of them.. couldn't reach a full pie slow timer...

The speed of frenzic there is imposible xD

Taffa (Rank 11th) says:

Hope that you can press hop. Nice job!

Captain Ged (Rank 586th) says:

Totally impressive! If you could see me, I'd be bowing my head to you. Well done!

Nacho (Rank 4th) says:

Thanks :D
I hope I will beat hop eventually.
